I don’t do drugs

I don't do drugs.
I don't know what it's like.
But I'm not always myself.
Space out as hours pass by.

I don't use drugs.
For recreation, I mean.
I certainly take medicine,
But I'm otherwise clean.

Well, that's kind of a lie.
It's not addiction, it's prescription,
Though I'm not gonna die

It's not fair cuz
I'm always asleep.
My eyes may be open,
But I'm lost in a dream.

I don't take drugs,
Or things that aren't mine.
But I'll steal a couple Z's.
I'm the dissociative type.

I don't swear or cuss,
Though it hurts the rhyme scheme.
I must resist temptation.
Curses rhyme with everything.

It's hard to trust others
When you can't trust your mind.
I don't think that you'd deceive me,
But that's not for you to decide.
