Dream: Searching For Fairyland

I was lost in my mind.

Speak to the realm.

I was not myself.

Temporal Anomaly.

-

Paradox Detected,

Sending dispatchment.

Evade the Angels.

I am the Virus.

-

Afraid of water.

Afraid of fish.

Why be worrywort

When you’re omnipotent?

-

He breaks our foolish thinking,

We thought he had weaknesses.

He dove into the water

And multiplied into shrimp.

-

Sea Anemone.

Outnumbered his enemies,

Dragged them into the sea,

Flooded the land with ease.

-

Perhaps with witchcraft

I can escape.

But past the river magma

I must proceed.

-

Metal Chairs

Or Metal Children.

Both are flattened

In Fairyland.

-

Paradox. I make it true.

My little dog is a multi-poo.

That Fire Beetle fought in World War One.

Here’s his Medal of Honor for service done.

-

Or when I’m a woman,

Still at home with my sisters.

All of them adults;

All unmarried virgins.

-

But who needs a husband?

Our birthright is magic power.

We control Elements:

Air, Fire, Earth, or Water.

-

But my sisters don’t deserve it:

They harbor intent to murder.

They want all Elements themselves,

So I must defend myself.

-

Three sisters I must survive,

Some of them use wits, and some use knives.

Violence clearly is not the answer.

Father revokes his blessing from those that hurt others.

-

So I wake up early on the fateful day

And around the house, traps I lay.

No harm will come of these subtle changes.

I simply offer my sisters opportunities.

-

I set the table for breakfast and make pancakes.

Cutlery sport knives on the plates.

A chess piece, Knight, I place  on the shelf.

So my witty twin sister would seek for help.

-

Then there is my social younger sister,

Who thinks she can earn blessings through pity.

She’ll cry and complain for Father’s Blessing.

I need no preparation against her, she poses no threat.

-

It went as planned.

At least, for the most part.

Older sister took knives in hand,

And twin sister took the Knight.

-

As the oldest prepares to throw,

I beg my twin for the Knight to save my life.

The oldest realizes the twin is more powerful

Since the chess piece is useful in a fight.

-

So they fight each other,

Oldest slays my twin sister.

But now her Blessing is revoked,

And witty twin sister cannot Birthright know.

-

So I flee to my father

In the midst of the slaughter.

And he banishes the oldest,

And the youngest one throws a fit.

-

Social, emotional, diplomat.

So far, things are going according to plan.

The baby of the family demands

That she receives all the birthrights, including mine.

-

Father is angered at her attitude.

He refuses to bless her with magic too.

She falls onto the floor, screaming  and crying.

Father turns to me as he realizes

-

I am the only daughter who can now receive his blessing.

So I will receive all four Elements.

He thinks this is unfair and briefly insists

That I only take one and he keeps the rest.

-

I am enraged, but I keep my cool

And briefly explain that it’s a waste not to

Transfer his gifts, for he will soon die in old age,

And the power will be lost if not passed to progeny.

-

He concedes and gives me the power:

Master of all Elements, like the Avatar.

I leave my childhood home.

I wander through dungeons alone.

-

I’m a vampire, a night-eyed shapeshifter.

I seek the Elemental Flagstone

From each nation, I must conquer.

But this crypt, first, I must roam.

-

Transform into a giant fish,

Not useful on land, but still quite the sight.

Other vampires seek to steal my magics,

So I transform into a fish. Wait, something’s not right.

-

I conjure the fish below my feet,

It acts as a mount, my loyal steed.

I lash my whip at my enemies.

They ignore it, it barely stings.

-

But why is the fish a separate entity?

I could have sworn I was shapeshifting.

Perhaps it’s a glitch because I have

More than just the water Element.

-

Vampiric Earth,

Water Shapeshifter,

Alien Air,

Fire Soldier.
