Dream: Daughter of a Scientist
Let me introduce you to my best friend.
He’s my dad, a doctor and scientist.
He likes to work on top-secret projects.
My TV monitors his location.
-
He disappeared; He must be dead, I guess.
Well, that’s okay. I met a blonde woman:
Said “Dad’s not dead,” but I don’t understand.
So she shared footage from video cam.
Since dad’s not dead, I’m going on a quest.
-
Hey, guys, guess what. I’ve got a new best friend.
She’s a teddy bear, who can color change.
Just teddy bear, haven’t thought of a name.
Looked for my father, but found only pain.
Now teddy bear, brings me joy again.
Teddy vanished. On whom can I depend?
-
Both best friends are gone. Everything is pretty-
Bleak, depressing, and dismal from my plight.
Cold, dark, gloomy; probably from the night.
As I cross a bridge, howls fill me with fright.
Did you see that? A bipedal canine?
Under the bridge, against the walls where I-
-
Hide, crying. Cover my mouth as I scream.
I can see fine because the moon is bright.
The creature follows me underneath the bridge.
Despite the night, it is easy to see.
The full-moon a spotlight shining brightly
Goosebumps. Too terrified to try and flee.
It’s too late to hide: the monster’s coming.
Up on two legs, the wolf stumbles towards me.
-
A few feet away, it stops,
Something had changed suddenly.
I gained an advantage.
Gnashing teeth, scintillating claws,
It's the wolf's turn to run.
I give chase, I pursue,
But what shall I do
If I manage to catch him?
